On 28th of June 2009, together with Lufthansa Cargo Charter and Finland Servisair, Jade Cargo International has successfully accomplished the transportation of a single piece of 46 tons outsized cargo from Helsinki to Seoul. This was the heaviest single piece ever on a Jade Cargo B747-400ERF aircraft. And also it was the heaviest outsized cargo ever handled in Helsinki Vantaa Airport.
Vantaa airport did not have the handling capacity to load the 46 tons piece into the B747-400ERF aircraft. Thus the haulier of customer ABB, a crane operator and a specialist company had to be engaged for a different loading solution. The whole loading process lasted for more than 6 hours and the cargo arrived in Seoul Incheon Airport after an 8 hours flight. There the offloading was performed successfully.
