Is loss of license insurance available? |

When does the counting of the 8 consecutive off days start? |
| |
As soon as you reached your point of departure for the off days, the counting starts. Hence, any mandatory rest time is part of the consecutive off days. |

How do you calculate the salary after December 2008? |
| |
Until Jade's restructuring process has fully been completed, Jade will give you an income guarantee of 80 block hours as shown in the graph below.

All posted gross salaries are calculated on that basis. Once the flight plan has returned to normal, i.e. in January 2009 at the latest, that income guarantee has become superfluous and due to operational needs you will be able to fly a normal roster. In both time periods, the overtime 2 payment is always on top.

I only see Captain and FO positions. Where is the SFO? |

We treat SFOs as fully qualified First Officer including left hand seat training who relieves the captain during cruise flight according to CAAC regulations. Consequently, they earn a higher salary as well as supplement and have the option to be upgraded to captain. For salary details refer to section Compensation and Benefits, Note 1 and for upgrade details to section Upgrade Policy. |

According to the Term and Conditions, all payments are paid after Chinese Tax. What is the tax rate in China? |

The tax rate in China varies between 5% and 45% depending on monthly income. |

Is the allowance for child education taxable? |
| |
The allowance for child education will be refunded on the tax invoice provided by the local international school. It can only be paid on that specific tax invoice without tax payment. |

What license is required to fly with Jade Cargo? |
| |
To be a pilot in Jade Cargo, you are required to pass the Chinese ATPL test. Once passed, you will be issued with a Chinese ATPL. |

How can I prepare best for the Chinese ATPL exam? |
| |
Well ahead of time, Jade will send you a question book and a reference book. Review the content of those books thoroughly and you will pass with flying colors. |

Yes, a full ATPL with no restrictions is required. |

What is a typical schedule? |

Presently, you can expect three rotations to Europe plus one rotation in Asia per month. |

No, at present Jade only serves Asian and European destinations. See our flight plan for details. |

In the near future, Jade is planning to extend its network to include USA destinations. |

5 Travel

What travel agreements are available for employees? |
| |
Currently, all company sponsored travel is on the Lufthansa network only. See Terms and Conditions, section Private Travel for details. |

Will there be interlining with Lufthansa (Star Alliance airlines) and Shenzhen Airlines? |

The current travel policy as posted in the terms and conditions section is a temporary regulation that will be updated once a final agreement has been reached between the shareholders of Jade Cargo. |

Can my family and I travel on Jade's freights free of charge? |

At the moment, Chinese regulation only lets employees travel aboard Jade's freighters. So you may use Jade's freighters for travel but not your wife or children. |

What international schools are available in Shenzhen? |

In November 2007 there were at least three:
- International School of Sino-Canada
- Shenzhen American International School
- Shekou International School

How far is Hong Kong from Shenzhen? |

If you live in the beautiful area of Shekou where most of our pilots live, you can take the ferry and be in Hong Kong within 30 minutes. |

How do I get a visa for China? |

Jade Cargo staff will provide you and your family members with a residence permit that allows you to enter and exit China at your convenience. |

What if I or a family member gets sick? |
| |
You can either visit one of the excellent medical facilities in the area where you live or visit a doctor in nearby Hong Kong. |

Do people speak English in Shenzhen? |
| |
Shenzhen is one of the most international cities in China since its rapid growth over the last 30 years not only attracted Chinese from all over the country but also many foreigners. Thus, the ability to communicate in at least rudimentary English is quite high, especially among the younger people. |

Is the crime rate high? |
| |
Shenzhen is a remarkably safe city and the people are mostly very friendly towards foreigners. Capital crimes are virtually unheard of. However, just like in another big city - especially in the touristy areas - petty offenses like pick pocketing do happen. |

Is it possible to buy an apartment in Shenzhen? |

Yes, if you are a resident in China for one year, then you can buy an apartment. |
